Beginners tips for Patrician 3

  • Patrician 3 "20 Quick Tips"

    1. Employ a Ware-house manager ASP (this is for very hard settings, if starting with snaikka, build another snaikka, then a crayer)

    2. Build a Crayer

    3. Upgrade Crayer to level 3

    4. Concentrate on Beneke with Captain 4 or 5 in Navigation

    5. Bet on Iron-Ore in Alborg ASP, then set circular route in Stockholm, Reval.

    6. Buy 20-80 (depending on cities at start) 20=2000 pop

    7.Set a circular route asp (ex: Rostock/Malmö/Stettin/Gdansk

8.When Beneke is captured set another Circular Route at Rostock/Stettin/Gdansk/Torun export just cloth/iron-goods/wine

at Alborg (Iron-Ore is very important) and Ladoga/Osla (iron-ore importI)

    9. Build a Ware-house in Alborg first (or if you play at VERY HARD SETTING, which you should, Rostock and Stettin is the first Ware-houses due to high demand on grain and fish/beer.

10.When thats is settled, concentrate to build a brickwork in central hub (your main city) set the bricks to export and import timber for now (at the first 5 years anyway).

    Remember every golden counts!

11.Build housing when there are 90-95% demands.

When it reaches 96-100% the AI builds and that is irritating.

Especially when you can earn secondary earning.

Ex: When in cenral hub there is a Merchant House demand

for 95% ca build a house then you can do this is every ware-house city you have built it.

All of this is important and vital.

12.Examples of selling prices for Patrician 3 (Very Hard)

    Beer: 41

    Fish: 490

    Grain:115

    Iron Goods: 325

    Iron-Ore=1050

    Meat:1050

    Wool:1150

    Cloth: 280

    Leather: 280

Theese are the main import/export in the beginning.

    Although the pricing can vary.

13.Take it slow, building Workshops is slow

    14.Have a buffert when building 50K+

15.Go to city-house when Councillor or Patrician

Set taxes to 4%, set extend city guards. Later on when Patrician you can expand city wall...but that is when you have 400K+ in Golden...

The city-gate costs about 100K in Golden.. Dont wait too long, then there is a risk that the game "freezes" the build-wall method. For example when Alderman...or Lord Mayor..

This prevents any intercepting of Princes/Hoarding bandits later on, go to city-hall (when Alderman (or Lord Mayor) when expanded wall,

look out for the money if Patrician, you quickly can go bankrupt...and the choose expand military (if over 1000+ population limits) have a buffert of around 200K+.

    16. Expand your fleet accordingly

17.Dont rush to Lord Mayor, because you have to pay for the City Wall (if doesnt build more ships)see above...!

    18. Buy cutlasses and upgrade your convoy leaders

    On valuable routes (ex Alborg/Stockholm/Malmö)

equip your best Captains with 4 or 5 in Navigation/Fighting

19.Build grainfarm, beer-house and fishing hut early on.

    And then a Workshop.

Winter sets in early on, and theese building doesnt cost much,

if you have set up your ware-houses-and cities correctly

    20. Use one Hub for central-warehouse storage

    ex:

When trading you shall sell everything your city producing

    and buy when it doesnt.

For example, dont build lumber in Lubeck,

import it from Alborg or Torun instead.

This is for the hardest settings in Patrician 3.

If you play on easy you can test to build lumbermills, because the pricing is ridiciously high.

If done right you have 250,000 cash in one year and Patrician in no time...14 months...

Sell as much at least at 15% margin is aquired.

The Hanseatic Empire as a whole had a profit margin at 15% anually.

Producing timber can also make a profit, but only where it has full production.

Even in the hardest settings. Historically the Hanseatic purchased the timber from Torun and Alborg.

1.When defeated Beneke you have one extra Crayer too boost your sales.

    2. Sales is everything

3.Dont build much until Patrician/Lord Mayor

4.Expand your fleet at least 20-30 ships in year 1 or 2.

5.Open Tradehouse in Bergen, Alborg Malmö and Rostock early on

Then expand with circular routes at Stettin, Gdansk, Torun, and the same in northern Scandinavia (if necessar)

    beware of the pricing.

Dont spend to much on skins, check the demand in the marketplace,

    you can easily go bankrupt!!!...

    6. Expand your fleet and prepare one Crayer level 3 for extra-terrestrial threats (aka pirates) Level 4+ in Navigation

7.Mame the threats with at least 40-50% damage (it will take a long time to the enemy to reccopurate.

    8.Settings are as follows...

    Trade=VERY HARD

    Reputation=VERY HARD

    Citizens=VERY HARD

    Sea Battles=VERY HARD

Pirate Activity=LOW (this feature is broken, when playing on VERY HARD,although you defeat them AI spawns eternal new enemies (!)

Prince=LOW (this feature is somewhat broken, its a more nuance irritating thing that a game-mechaniqs, dont bother with this one.

Capital=LOW (this should set the things in the right perspective LOW=more fun! and manual trading, casual...

Ships=LOW (a snaikka is just a ship, remember, use it wisely

You easily can accumulate 400,000-500,000 in the first years with this method.

The trick is to build Crayers in the beginning (before producing bulk goods),

And i mean A LOT OF CRAYERS.

Sell as much at least at 15% margin is aquired.
